Sonic Withdrawal.

The National dropped a new album last year called High Violet.I was mildly addicted to it’s song called Blood Buzz Ohio.It is one of the few established Indie bands like The Pains of Being Pure At Heart and Dirty Projectors and The Black Keys.Being an established bands speaks for being reviewed and written about in non obscure publications.It becomes more likely for you to stumble upon them in print than on the sonic landscape.Thereby planting the seed of their hyped image in your head.It was for this reason that I resisted the National.Although last year,I pledged upon gathering every major indie album that released,instead of reading about them and forming my own opinion.This quest turned out quite fruitful because I finally got around to listening to High Violet and fell in love with Blood Buzz Ohio.All this forgotten fondness for the National has regurgitated itself from the scrambled remains of a corrupted hard drive by the arrival of their latest video for the song called Conversation 16.What makes this video even more special is that it features Mr. Sterling of the Sterling and Cooper fame from Mad Men-that is right I refer to people by their screen names-and the only-clingy-fanboy-girl of the Flight of the Choncords.

It’s been a while, since I wrote about music.Earlier when I had little ambition and no direction to pursue I found myself drawn in to an obsessive and demanding habit of playlist making.They were called the cybercrumbs series. Things are busy and taxing now. always end up listening to less music in summer than i normally do but summer makes me pay attention to all the details in the songs ....likes word verses...guitar licks..background vocals...all the little bits that shape the song.
electrocution by nada surf is a brilliant and lyrically fascinating...give it a spin.

Every now and then there comes along a song that makes you play it on loop.this week or may be a little before since, that song for me is "sink/let it sway"..by someone still loves boris yeltsin.they're an outfit from missourie usa..and you're right they've named their band after the first russian president Boris Yeltsin. This song is beautiful and lyrically simple and has the inexplicable power to make you throw your hair down and sway about like sonically bellowed drapes in audible bliss.I first read about sslyby on a music blog I avidly follow, going by the name of"weallwantsomeonetoshoutfor" The above mentioned song was aggregated on my rss feed and made it to my number one played songs in a week.It also made me look up their previous album "broom" and has left me in feverish anticipation for their new one.
I would like to thank the Internet for helping me discover such good music.

Thundercats

Watching cartoons today cannot bring back the oldskool sugarrushed perpetually pillow jumping child in me.today morning as I held this copy of thundercats I realised how much I miss watching captain planet, plastic man, spaceghost, the centurions,mightore.I wanted to play the base and get the opening riff to swatkats down like a pro.have my very own exoskeleton whenever I screamt power extreme.whenever the mask gave everyone a undie facemask wedgie it made me giddy with laughter.don't you miss the ghostbusters..busting made me feel good.fairlyodd parents with wings and wands and floaty crowny things were marvelous...come back tmnt...someone still loves you.

This is my first post after i made up my mind to start a music blog even if it means following the trailblaze of the teeming eleventy million of them out there feeding the ever insatiable thirst for good music.That's just simply putting it.
Ever since I heard "a comet appears" by the shins I knew they were going to occupy a large space on my hard disk...(music yoda:whole stinking discography i own) they have their pearls ... Like phantom limb and new slang that received some due hype due to it's use in the Zach braff and Natalie portman movie-garden state...indies across the world were delighted. Year 2010 enter "broken bells" dubbed as the love child of James mercer and danger mouse (gnarls barkley). Ever been skeptical about polyphnia inspired soul or blues well hold on to it tight because "the high road" by them will vaccum it out of your earhole like a fluffy-filthy- dust bunny. Their whole epynomous album is great. It's the kind of music that's really good and leaves the the most opiniated of folks with nothing to opine about. Truly beautiful.

Contra grows on you like the 80s obnoxiously pixelated 8 bit videogame of friendly commandos that take on blobs of visual scattery in a dedicated attempt to save the planet from -well you can say horribly imagined and whimsically designed bosses.hurray polyphonia..I've heard the whole album in it's entirety more no of times than you'll change toohbrushes in a year and find it absolutely delightful.

i don't really like radiohead(psst...but i also saw new moon just to spot thom yorke's hearing damage)...but they provide good-play-along-when-you-don't-want-to-pay-close-attention-to music..which is good and recommended for all hotel elevators and lobbies and airport lounges..instead of the heady trance crap they play...i can never pay attention to thom yorke's singing..which is why i found my self surprised to understanding.."yesterday i woke up sucking a llama" from everything in its place courtesy kid A...no sooner than i heard llama than i imagined luke skywalkers head shoved inside a ton ton from rise of the empire.Ton ton is a hoth critter -part llama part kangaroo and part smelly...that the republic spies use to patrol the unbearably cold planet hoth.After fighting off a gandark that kidnaps him, luke skywalker tread in the cold to get back to the base.He ends up collapsing face first in the snow due to exhaustion and other malladies brought by cold only to be rescused by caring friend han solo...who then decides that the best way to fight frost bite is to stick it out in a gutted tonton..

yet again, if not often I feel the need to fill in an instalment of my opinion on things that don't even as much as fly by my window with the roar of the traffic. I call it need because it's necessary to have an opinion -rigged ,biased, influenced,straight from the heart or coloured yellow -it don't matter.just have one.

we're in February now ,and I've been trying to follow the budget...the railway budget for that matter . I don't understand any of it probably because i can count the no. of times i have travelled by trains on my silver-spoon tugging fingers(okay may be steel spoon)....but i lucked on cutlery ,didn't i?

my myopic overview

world economy is trenching and Indian railways is claiming a surplus still zooming in the surging direction,-surprising still -we don't see any improvements in the substandard service it's so proud of ....sadly though as rationality demands quantity does out-prioritise quality....which is a-okay...except have you seen the figures the surplus quotes, shouldn't we have more fleets of trains with extended no of coaches along with cleanliness ,order and competence.i think we can afford it now ,with all that money.new trains are to be started to accommodate the expected increase in passenger traffic...we seem to be zipping in in the same lane, propagating our outdated material and that is hardly the disturbing part -it might not be feasible to stop for a buff up.we might never get a clean up leave alone an upgrade....//well that's just the skeptical lobe.

Listening to James blunt i couldn't help but draw Difference bet your beautiful by James blunt and beautiful by Christina aguleira
Your beautiful is a song about a broken heart . Blunt is driven to despair by the fact that he can never have this serenely beautiful girl whom he just saw.But he has a plan . . . He is going to end his life ,just so he doesn't have to spend it ,not having her. Stupid and sad. . . but really beautiful.
aguleira's song on the other hand is a consolation prize for the unanimous and ugly population seeking every scrap of encouragement their infernal low self esteem can feed on.The song is only beautiful when a fat or short or bald or scrawny or face lift undergone or paper bagged faced person sings it. Sure aguleira has sung it in the vid but ,you're missing the underbelly of her plot. she's shown as a homeless,bare feet walking,torn clothes wearing,unkempt hair possessing pavement hugging urban vagabond.Any pretty person to sing the song automatically becomes cocky and vapid.imagine belluci singing it. . In her hot Italian drawl if you must . . . She's already pretty and singing the song will just be blowing your own trumpet .. . May be she'll be dubbed as being humble and modest for considering herself below measure to sing this song Of secret self pity and perverse false assurance.

I think i'm turning into an old parsi hag who lives with bald cats...(i don't have any pets...darn) or may be i'm just turning into Norman Bates *a boy's best friend is his blond wigged -dead -skeletal mother*.

Sitting through the day on the first bench and staring at philandering coefficients snuggle up to completely strange variables, exhibitioning their debauchery on the chalkboard, i realised....wow control systems engineering is scandalous.
